Aim
The S4C Learners' Website was devised to complement the subtitling service for learners by providing extra help and information.
Its prime aim is to help learners follow and better understand some of the Welsh programmes on S4C.
It does this by targeting learners at 4 language levels – Just Starting, Mynediad/Entry, Sylfaen/Foundation and Canolradd/Intermediate. It also provides the choice of North or South language patterns.
When you first enter the Learners’ site you will be asked to choose a level and preferred dialect (North or South patterns). You can change your preferences at any time by clicking on the box at the top right hand corner of the screen.
The website should be seen as a "language resource" - an aid to learning and understanding - rather than a "language course" that takes the learner from A to B. At each Welsh level, unfamiliar words or phrases are explained.
