S4C's Website for Welsh Learners
Download Welsh Subtitles
S4C provides Welsh subtitles on many of its Welsh language programmes. These are subtitles that reflect the language heard on those programmes, ranging from formal spoken Welsh to dialect, but do not contain accents. These subtitles are suitable for Welsh learners on Higher and Proficiency Levels.
You can now download Welsh subtitles in WORD document format. The subtitles will usually be available for download the day after the programme’s first transmission on S4C. Most S4C programmes are shown more than once, especially on S4C digidol. You can also watch on-line through S4C’s “Clic” service. (This service also provides subtitles.)
How to use these subtitles:
- Download subtitles.
- Read the subtitles to understand and follow the content of the programme.
- Record the programme and watch or watch on-line.
